Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction class

MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the 1970s and has successfully been used for more than 30 years within hospitals, workplaces, and communities to help people who suffer from stress, chronic illness or pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, and a broad range of other issues. The 8-week intensive program is highly respected within the medical community, and is offered as a complement to more traditional medical and psychological treatments.
Our Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course consists of eight weekly three-hour-long classes and a one-day retreat (on a weekend), and includes:
•Lectures on the effects of stress and information about the scientific research supporting the effectiveness of Mindfulness practices
•Guided instructions in various Mindfulness techniques
•Group dialogue and 'Mindful Communication'
•Gentle stretching and Mindfulness Yoga
•Home practice materials (Student manual, Journal, Guided Audio)
The regular cost for the eight-week MBSR class is $725.00, but we are offering a special discount of 40%, which brings the total cost to only $425.00!!
This class is jointly provided by the AK Nurses Association. Nursing CEs are available upon request.
