Description

Introduces audiences to the adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) study and addresses why ACEs are so adverse and what we can do about it. Brings together Alaska Native ancestral knowledge of trauma and resilience; neurobiology, physiology, and epigenetics; data on stressors affecting Alaskan families; simple brain-body healing exercises; and practices in education and early childhood, this presentation provides an introduction to trauma-informed, culturally-responsive approaches in healthcare and education.
