Description

Joe Holshoe, a former Naval Officer, is currently a Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service and is a Board Certified Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Behavioral Health for Bassett Army Community Hospital, Substance Abuse Program Consultant, and is psychiatric provider active duty service members, dependents and retirees. He has served in clinical roles at Womack Army Medical Center, the National Naval Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and the Naval Health Center New England, as well as, the Chemawa Indian Health Center. He has also served as a national disaster policy analyst and policy developer for at-risk populations for the Administration of Children and Families. CDR Holshoe has published on sleep in psychiatry and is the author of the chapter on sleep and antidepressants in the Encyclopedia of Sleep. He has also written for Western Schools nursing CEU program including chapters on Trauma-Related Disorders, Sleep Disorders, MDD, and was the content reviewer for Western Schools most recent chapter on Post-Deployment PTSD.
