Nursing CEs are being jointly provided by the Alaska Nurses Association and the Alaska Training Cooperative. The Alaska Nurses Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. CEs will be available for full participation.

Description

As a caregiver, the training can help in the recognition of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts or gestures, as well as the role that substance abuse plays in the mental health of a loved one. The MHFA training will also teach caregivers the techniques necessary to support a person experiencing a mental health crisis and give them the knowledge of how to get help during the crisis.



This is an 8-hour certification course.Often a spouse, partner or family member does the majority of caregiving of older adults. As a direct service provider or caregiver, the training can help in the recognition of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts or gestures, as well as the role that substance abuse plays in the mental health of a loved one over 65.
